TREKKING AT KEW MAE PAN – DOI INTHANON NATIONAL PARK AREA

Travel to south of Chiang Mai route to Visit Inthanon Mountain, (1½ Hoursdrive) which the Thailand's highest mountain (2565 meters above sea level) offers beautiful scenery, evergreen mountain forests, dwarf rhododendron groves, rare bird life, and impressive waterfalls.

 

Start one the most beautiful and rewarding trekking in the national park at Kew Mae Pan: The path leads for three kilometer or more through dense, moist evergreen forest then emerges and follows the top of a steep slope bordering the canyon headwaters of the Mae Pan River. Two hours walk, allows you to experience the natural beauty of the forest.

 

Lunch served at the local restaurant.

 

Continue to visit the great Twin Royal Pagodas, which were built to commemorate the 60th birthday celebrations of His Majesty the King and Her Majesty the Queen respectively. Both contain stylised Buddha images and are decorated with terracotta tiled murals.

 

Then visit Vachirathan Waterfall, one of the highest waterfalls in Northern Thailand to take pictures. Then transfer back to hotel.

 

NOTE: Every year from June 1 to October 31 (Rainy Season) the area is closed to the public.
